Semisubmersible and jackup rigs, large and small, can be dry docked at Signal International in Mississippi. Work such as pontoon or spud can repairs, steel replacement, thruster/propulsion repair, addition of sponsons and blisters, is routinely carried out on our dry dock. Signal provides the docking plan, the cribbing and the expertise of veteran engineers and dockmasters to ensure safe, secure and ready access to the rig’s below-waterline extremities. Big rigs are dry docked one at a time, while small rigs can be accommodated two (or even three) at a time. Using our Rig-to-Dock locator, you can calculate the distance of a rig to Signal’s dry-dock.

Dual Carrier at Pascagoula East, Mississippi
The Pascagoula Dry Dock is a mobile unit capable of handling a myriad of rigs and vessels of various shapes and sizes. Typically, the Dual Carrier is partially submerged at a deep hole in the river channel and the rig is floated over. After exact positioning, the Dual Carrier is de-ballasted thus lifting the rig out of the water. The Dual Carrier is typically moved to quayside and positioned for optimal reach by land-based cranes and access from gangways. The Dual Carrier data sheet provides vital capacity, deck area, dimensional and performance statistics.
