GENERAL FUNCTION:
Accountable for overall success of individual engineering projects. Acts as the central interface with Program Management, production, regulatory bodies, classification societies, customer and company management on individual engineering projects.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:
- Acts as central point of contact for project within engineering
- Leads project teams
- Maintains technical vision of project
- Provides daily direction to team members for scheduling, technical integration, and production support
- Provides administrative leadership for project
- Accountable for ensuring incorporation of overall project requirements
- Negotiates with Chiefs for resources
- Accountable for project schedule, and technical integration
- Interfaces with and coordinates activities of design subcontract
- Responsible for coordinating vendor interfaces
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Strong technical background required. Good leadership and management skills. Good interpersonal skills. Strong facilitations and conflict resolution skills. Must be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
Experience in engineering project management. Experience in shipbuilding practices. Bachelor degree in technical field or equivalent technical experience.
